About The Position

Requirements

  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Mammography (M) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) to be obtained within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in mammography as a technologist.

  • Advanced knowledge of Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and radiation safety.
  • Advanced knowledge of accreditation policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills such as delegation and team building.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a resource to employees and students, providing training and day-to-day work direction.
  • Assists with human resource responsibilities, including interviewing and selection of new employees.
  • Interprets department policies and procedures, advising staff on changes.
  • Identifies performance improvement opportunities and facilitates change.
  • Serves as a technical resource and role model for students and staff.
  • Performs basic to advanced mammography examinations and reviews patient medical records.
  • Evaluates mammographic images for quality and accuracy.
  • Maintains records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enters patient information into the radiology information system.
  • Identifies equipment performance issues and performs quality assurance tests.
  • Performs patient positioning and transporting duties.
