About The Position

The Mammography Tech 2 arranges patients for Mammography examinations. Produces Mammography images to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Ensures patient safety by using pre-established imaging protocols, and screenings for of all patients. Utilizes departmental policy to perform safe operation of equipment and all functions of the job. Provides complete pre and post education to patients and family. Patients are tracked according to department procedures, and technologist can Identify errors and takes immediate action for corrections, as evidenced by the RIS reports. Effectively communicates with patient to obtain clinical history/informed consent from the patient or patient's chart to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination, as evidenced by the exam results. The procedure is appropriately explained to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation, as evidenced by lack of complaints. Clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams are recognized and appropriate action taken to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcome, as evidenced by exam results and patient satisfaction. The technologist reports, documents and corrects any adverse, unsafe or unusual conditions, as evidenced by the patient/employee incidence reports. Requirements

2 years experience
Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, ARRT (R) (M)
LA State License
Basic Life Support, BLS - HCP
