About The Position

Under the direction of radiologist, performs Special Procedure as well as other mammography examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Maintain all necessary records etc logging patient data in log book and Performs tasks related to MQSA. Review tech pair review of images. In conjunction with clerical schedulers and technologist Maintains a constant workflow with the technologist. Assist physician during biopsy procedures as needed. Maintain supplies pertaining to Mammography. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis and image guided treatment. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Obtain mammographic analog/digital images as well as other images: This task includes the proper setting of exposures factors and imaging equipment to obtain high quality images for diagnosis by the radiologist. Train other associates and students in special procedures. The shift for this position varies 8:00-4:30pm including Saturdays 8:30-5pm including Saturdays

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and meets the requirements for certification by the ARRT; specific to Mammography
  • Licensed by the State of New York; required.
  • Associate's Degree required

  • 2 years experience preferred
