About The Position

The primary purpose of this job position as a Mammographer / Radiographer in the Medical Imaging Department is to perform assigned duties in an effective manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as directed by the supervisor to assure that a successful viable department is maintained at all times. Working under the direction of the Director of Medical Imaging and the Assistant Director of Medical Imaging, the tech performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. The role involves caring for a patient population which includes adolescents and geriatrics, requiring the ability to identify special needs according to age and respond appropriately. The tech will also perform other job related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent
Verification of successful graduation from an AMA accredited radiography program and certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Certification in mammography with the American Registry of Radiologist Technologists
Verification of Ohio State Radiological License
General orientation and safety programs must be completed
Technologist should be able to reach full productivity in 60 working days
Has complete understanding of all common radiographic and Mammographic procedures, sterile techniques and some knowledge of nursing skills
Should possess basic knowledge of how an Imaging Department functions
Working knowledge of medical terminology is required
Must be able to work with long term and acute care patients
Must be able to function effectively and efficiently in emergencies
Must be able to make quick decisions when necessary
