Performs screening and diagnostic mammography procedures with a thorough understanding of FDA and MQSA regulations as well CA state requirements. Responsible for equipment quality control test documentation. Must meet the continuing education requirements for California, FDA and American College of Radiology. May rotate through Bone Dexa services as needed. Must be able to use knowledge and ability to assist physicians, interpret orders and explain procedures to RNs, patients and families. Secondary responsibilities include a thorough understanding of the department operations in order to assist non-technical staff in processing paperwork, films. In the absence of the Program Manager, may se in leadership role to ensure continuity of service. May attend meetings or participate in programs to improve operations or services. Ability to work within a digital imaging environment. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

  • Minimum Education: As required by certification and/or licensure
  • Minimum Experience: 1 - 2 years
  • Required Certification: Certified Radiologic Technologist CRT(R) BLS Heart Saver Initial RQI within 30 days of hire
  • Required License: Mammographic Radiologic Technology
  • Preferred Education: Associate degree
  • Preferred Experience: 3 - 4 years
  • Preferred Certification: Not Applicable
  • Preferred License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT(R)
