About The Position

OneCore Health is a patient-focused imaging provider dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality diagnostic imaging services. We are seeking a Mammography Technologist to join our imaging team. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and compassionate professional who performs mammography procedures with precision, provides patient-centered care. Candidates must have an associate or bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology and be ARRT certified in mammography. This position is Monday through Friday with no weekends, holidays, or call. This position also gets an afternoon off each week. Job Summary: Performs medical mammograms and radiographic examinations in order to diagnose disease or trauma. The technologist is responsible for programming the machine for correct density, contrast, definition, magnification and distortion. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in CQI activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Associate degree is required.
  • One (1) year of mammography experience.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology specializing in Mammography
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • ARRT and/or CRT certification.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
  • Possesses a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
  • Proficiency with mammography equipment manufacturer's hardware and software .
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology sufficient to be able to position patients and locate the anatomical area to be imaged.
  • Ability to explain procedure to patient and family members, answering patient questions and helping to alleviate fears about the procedure.
  • Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
  • Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure; makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
  • Operation of equipment to produce the most reliable and informational data.
  • Maintain accurate examination records and pertinent information on patients.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
  • Takes call according to monthly schedule after the closing of the regular department hours.
  • Completes all work before clocking out and leaving.
  • Performs all quality control checks, as prescribed.
  • Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.
  • Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination; documents and deviation.
  • Interacts professionally with patient/family.
  • Understands and practices proper use of all equipment; never operates equipment inconsistent with manufacturer's instruction.
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population.
  • Meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean.
  • Completes annual educational requirements.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.
  • Consistently completes and maintains assigned duties.
  • Wears identification while on duty.
  • Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled.
  • Attends at least 3 staff meetings, reads and returns all monthly staff meeting minutes.
  • Maintains CDI requirements, policies and standards on confidentiality.
  • Knowledgeable of local fire and safety regulations.
  • Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
  • Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
  • Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the hospital as well as the focus statement of the department.
