About The Position

Reporting to and functioning under the general supervision of the Supervisor, the mammography technologist prepares for and operates imaging equipment following specific physicians orders. Produces detailed computer generated scans of patients for breast and DEXA exams, verifies patients identification prior to scan, selects patient from work list, ensures exam is archived on the PACS. Maintains facilities in proper order. Must keep abreast of all new departmental imaging. To perform a variety of mammographic and DEXA procedures using X-Rays.

Requirements

• Completion from an accredited radiography program.
• Registered in radiography and mammography by the ARRT, or registry eligible.
• One year mammography experience preferred.
• Registered in Radiology Technology by the ARRT with advanced Mammography Certification.
• Current and valid license from the State of NJ DEP.
• Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
• Physical dexterity to operate a variety of complex stationary and mobile radiation producing equipment.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Effective interaction and communication skills (oral, writing, presenting).
• Ability to perform accurately and with attention to detail.
• Ability to function competently in stressful situations.
• Ability to work cooperatively within the health-system and with multidisciplinary team members.
• Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities.
