About The Position

Produces quality screening and diagnostic mammography films and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) exams; educates patients regarding patient exams and accurately documents procedures completed and procedure codes.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) approved School of Radiologic Technology
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Radiology (R)
  • California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license Radiography and Mammography
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected situations
  • Ability to communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff to ensure clear and accurate exchange of information
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in the use of mammography and DEXA equipment

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations
  • Interacts compassionately and effectively with patients providing a Five Star experience by reducing anxieties; provides explanations of procedures and equipment, and answers questions
  • Escorts patient from sub-wait area to procedure room.
  • Explains procedure to patient prior to beginning exam.
  • Obtains appropriate medical history required (patient and family) before procedure is started.
  • Explains comparative film review and obtains patient film release signature, as appropriate.
  • Performs appropriate screening and diagnostic mammography exams.
  • Completes all required billing and documentation accurately and timely in EHR and PACS.
  • Performs bone density screening as assigned.
  • Maintains cleanliness of all radiology equipment and rooms.
  • Maintains job knowledge per the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and state regulatory requirements.
  • Follows department timekeeping procedures.
  • Works at main campus and satellite facilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
