About The Position

The Mammography Tech provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient. They are responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and for coordinating teamwork with all the members of the health care team. The position will work at locations in Princeton, Onamia, Mora, and Pine City.

Requirements

  • 1 year experience in a radiology setting.
  • ARRT certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced training or experience in mammography.
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross).
  • Advanced certification in mammography.

Responsibilities

  • Performs examinations with technical accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Applies advanced understanding of imaging techniques, disease processes and application of quantitative formulas and data during procedures.
  • Reexamines questionable data.
  • Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images.
  • Completes communication of pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the exam.
  • Positions patient appropriately to achieve quality diagnostic images.
  • Verifies patient identification and documentation.
  • Communicates with and educates the patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of the exam.
  • Performs Dutogram.
  • Ensures patient data integrity.
  • Accurately completes computer functions, editing, billing, status changes, etc.
  • Documents quality parameters as required by regulatory oversight.
  • Participates as an active team member.
  • Orients and mentors new employees.
  • Participates in improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position.
  • Cleans and maintains patient areas, supplies and equipment.
  • Accepts unique customer service expectations in imaging.
  • Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines.
  • Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is in working order according to department guidelines.
  • Accepts new technology as it is introduced into the work environment.
