About The Position

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Ensures 100% compliance with all FDA/MQSA regulations and ACR Accreditation standards by overseeing all regulatory, quality, and accreditation activities related to the mammography program. Prepare, organize, submit and maintain all required MQSA and ACR documentation, oversee Quality Control (QC) protocols, policies and procedures, prepare for FDA/MQSA inspections, execute the applications, reviews, and submission process for ACR Accreditation, monitor personnel qualifications, auditing image quality, and tracking equipment maintenance ensuring compliance to prevent service disruptions. Serves as the primary resource for mammography documentation, quality control, audits and accreditation readiness, while also functioning as a clinical mammography technologist as needed to fulfill the MQSA technologist continuing experience regulations. Serves as primary contact for MQSA inspections and ACR Accreditations Maintians well organized, inspection ready MQSA and ACR binders physical and/or electronic containing complete and accurate information while monitoring regulatory changes and proactively implementing updates to policies, procedures and workflows. Track and maintain credentials, continuing experience and continuing education for the radiologists, physicists and technologists. Perform/review and document Technologist QC daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual testing. Ensure timely completion of corrective action plans and follow up documentation when required. Conduct ongoing image quality reviews and collaborate with the radiologist and technologist to address quality concerns ensuring consistent high quality mammographic exams are produced with attention to patient satisfaction; by holding peers accountable for workload assignments and quality of work produced Coordinate equipment performance evaluations, physicist surveys, preventative maintenance and service equipment repairs monitoring and documenting as required Provide training and support as technical resource to staff on mammography positioning, equipment and protocols. Collaborates with radiology leadership to ensure patient satisfaction and complete documentation for the Medical Audit Enters numbers and completes the patient exam count by physician for the Imaging Director Assists and ensures that supplies are ordered and used in a cost effective manner. Produces high quality mammographic exams accurately critiquing images, checking for artifacts and adjusting factors for technical quality and diagnostic acceptability Follows safety standards providing proper shielding for patients and assisting personnel. Cleans and disinfects equipment before releasing patient upon completion of examination. The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for the position.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in radiologic technology.
  • Actively Registered in Mammography and compliant with MQSA
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in radiology imaging modalities (clinical and/or quality focused)
  • Strong organizational, documentation and audit preparation skills
  • Self-motivated & directed with regard to an increasing level of understanding and knowledge.
  • Respect patients, staff and customers with confidentiality, attendance and punctuality.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, mammographic equipment and testing.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards related to mammography.
  • Skill to properly position patients to provide high quality images.
  • Skill in trouble-shooting equipment and training staff in equipment operations
  • Ability to identify problems, communicate clearly, maintain concentration and attention to detail
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Capable of demonstrating flexibility with the operational demands of the department.
  • Requires full body motion.
  • Must be able to lift/carry/move items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Requires positioning patients as needed or to satisfy MQSA requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience leading or supporting MQSA inspections and ACR Accreditation
  • Experience with quality assurance, compliance and regulatory roles in breast imaging
  • Familiarity with mammography equipment, QC, and physicist coordination
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
