About The Position

Oneida Health is seeking a Mammography Technologist to provide care for patients in our Radiology Department. Under the general direction of the Radiologist and Chief Mammography Technologist, this position will perform Digital Mammograms of the breast at a technical level to produce high-quality mammographic images. Additionally, the technologist may perform breast localization procedures as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved JCERT program (Required)
• ARRT advanced certification in Mammography, licensed by NYS (Required)
• BLS (Required)
• Medical Imaging: 1 year (Preferred)
• Proficiency in performing mammography procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to lift and position patients as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Imaging: 1 year (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Complete patient education regarding examination and procedures.
• Promote privacy and comfort for patients during their hospital visit.
• Perform diagnostic and/or screening mammograms as ordered by the Radiologist.
• Prepare for and assist the Radiologist in completing intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
• Produce high-quality films for evaluation by the Radiologist.
• Complete appropriate documentation of the appointment, including billing information.
• Perform quality control functions related to mammography.
• Assist in compiling and maintaining statistical data.
