About The Position

Mammographer / X-Ray Technologist JOB SUMMARY: This individual is responsible for operating and maintaining the Radiological facilities, assisting with laboratory duties, and assisting the LRMC physicians in the delivery of primary medical care as needed. We provide a wide range of affordable health and support services for every family. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but not limited to. Positions patients according to standards set by American College of Radiology. Selects appropriate technical factors from technique charges and operate equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety practices. Prepares completed Mammograms, X-rays and DEXAs for interpretation in a timely manner, including appropriately identified images and all associated forms and paperwork. Reviews all requisitions/orders for accuracy and applicable clinical information. Prepares examination room and all equipment in advance according to the patient’s examination and diagnostic needs. Inputs all data into the information system required for exam completion. Performs daily printer checks, record results, and reports any abnormalities to the appropriate supervisor. Performs weekly phantom checks and appropriately reports discrepancies. Performs equipment monitoring and cleaning to maintain the highest quality environment. Educates patients on BSE, breast cancer, and other related women’s health issues. Ensures all information on the Breast History Form is accurate and complete. Confirms that all mammography files include appropriate labels and ID markers as required by ACR/FDA/MQSA. Helps maintain patient logs and information collection as required for regulatory standards. Performs weekly, monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual QA/QC tests as required. Records inventory needs, as needed to maintain appropriate supply levels. Assists clerical, billing, and scheduling staff as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned Assures all DI orders performed are completed as ordered, resulted in electronic medical record timely. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Graduate from an accredited program of Radiologic Technology. Certified in Radiography and Mammography by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
