  • Performs high-quality screening and diagnostic mammographic examinations and procedures in accordance with physician orders, regulatory guidelines, and departmental protocols.
  • Positions patients and operates mammography equipment to obtain optimal images, adjusting technical factors and compression as needed.
  • Ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort, explaining procedures clearly and addressing questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion.
  • Follows all MQSA, FDA, and ACR guidelines, including quality control testing, equipment performance checks, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and breast imaging team to ensure accurate imaging and timely communication of results or next steps.
  • Participates in patient tracking and follow-up processes, assisting with recalls, additional imaging coordination, and biopsy scheduling as required by departmental workflows.
  • Supports breast center initiatives, such as accreditation preparation, community screening events, or quality improvement activities.
  • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
  • Performs high-quality examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
  • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks.
  • Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Bachelor's Preferred
  • High School Grad or Equivalence Required
  • 1+ years of Work Experience as Mammography Technologist Preferred
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Required
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required
  • Certified Radiologic Tech (CR-TECH) Preferred
  • KY Med Imagin/Rad (KBMIRT) Preferred
  • Medical Radiation Technology - IEMA (MRT-IEMA) Preferred
  • Lic Radiology Technologist (LRT-TECH) Preferred
  • Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT) Preferred
