About The Position

Under general supervision of Manager of Breast Imaging, the Mammography technologist provides Mammographic technical skills to the Department mission. Duties are to work as technologist and duties in other areas and/or modalities as necessary. The Mammography technologist performs mammography exams for use of diagnosis and treatment of disease or injury to patients of all ages. Requires knowledge of principles and procedures of diagnostic radiology and mammography and the operation and maintenance of Radiologic equipment to include mammography.

Requirements

• Completion of two years post-high school training in an approved school of Radiologic technology.
• MSRT/ARRT (M) certification required.
• State Radiology/mammography license required.
• Knowledge of principles and procedures of diagnostic radiology and mammography.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams for diagnosis and treatment of disease or injury.
• Provide technical skills in mammography and other modalities as necessary.
• Maintain and operate Radiologic equipment, including mammography machines.
• Interact effectively with patients to address apprehensions and provide instructions.
• Instruct students and provide technical supervision to staff technologists.
