About The Position

We are looking for a Male Caregiver in Severn to provide compassionate, non-medical care on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. As a caregiver at One You Love Homecare, you will help clients maintain independence, comfort, and dignity. Your role includes companionship, personal care support, assistance with daily living activities, and light housekeeping. Requirements

  • Prior experience in caregiving, home care, or related field is a plus.
  • State certification and/or license in good standing, if applicable.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance (if client transport required).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to assist clients with mobility and transfers.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including:
  • Transfers: Help clients using a sit-to-stand lift for safe mobility.
  • Personal Care: Brush teeth (set up and cueing), wash face with warm water, shave with an electric razor (twice weekly), and dress client every morning.
  • Toileting & Incontinence Care: Take clients to the toilet and check/change adult undergarments every 2–3 hours; provide perineal care.
  • Exercise Support: Assist clients with upper and lower body range-of-motion exercises.
  • Meal & Fluid Assistance: Encourage fluids throughout shift, place bib during meals, and assist with feeding if needed.
  • Medication Reminders: Remind clients to take medications after meals if family has not administered.
  • Maintain client safety, observe infection control, and follow individualized care plans.
  • Report any changes in client condition immediately to RN or agency.
  • Provide light housekeeping, laundry, and transportation as needed.
  • Clock in/out and document all completed tasks accurately.
