About The Position

Majorette Choreographer Job Title: Majorette Choreographer Location: Perry High School Position Available: Fall 2026 Working Days: Summer and Fall Practices Hours of Work: Wednesday evenings from 5:30-8:30 pm through the football season, two weeks of July Band Camp, as well as Summer and Fall practices and rehearsals as scheduled. Compensation: $909 - Per Perry Classroom Teachers Association negotiated agreement Job Summary: Organize and carry out pre-audition clinic sessions and formal auditions in late Spring for students interested in auditioning to become a majorette. Create and teach choreography for pregame and halftime performances for the fall season. Instruct students in individual and team fundamentals of baton twirling, strategy, and physical training necessary to realize a degree of individual and team success. Carry out the goals and objectives of the program as outlined by the band directors and school administration.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience with marching band performance techniques.
  • Available on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-8:30 pm through the football season, two weeks of July Band Camp, as well as Summer and Fall practices and rehearsals as scheduled
  • Responsible for implementing all policies approved by the Board of Education and the Music Department.
  • Knowledge of the existing school district policies for extracurricular organizations.
  • Understanding the proper administrative line of communication and referring student and parent questions through the proper channels.
  • Must possess a valid ODE Pupil Activity Permit

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with high school students in a teaching capacity
  • Experience with Majorette baton twirling techniques and choreography
