Job Summary Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation. Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan. Engineering direction and oversight for the development of commercial / environmental / nuclear safety / reliability / sustainability interests in new technology applications. Subject matter expert in areas of value to Vistra Engineering direction to Projects and Operations in the application of technologies at operating plants or plants in development Provide innovative engineering and licensing solutions for difficult problems May b e responsible for developing other employees in areas of expertise Lead economic justification/analysis for projects Oversees project finance and budget justification

Requirements

  • BS or greater in an Engineering discipline and 5 years of Commercial Nuclear Experience Required
  • Strong Knowledge in Nuclear Licensing
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interface with NRC Headquarters project managers, staff and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with reactor technology vendors and nuclear industry orgs, e.g. NEI.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates and applies knowledge of current and pending regulatory, code and general industry issues to resolve Vistra’s interests.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software applications.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading projects from concept to implementation.
  • Strong Knowledge of Nuclear Processes, Organization, Planning and Control –Must be able to plan and execute a broad course of action.
  • Willing and able to support domestic travel (including overnight travel) to various vendor / company locations.
