About The Position

Xcel Energy is seeking candidates to support our Major Projects within our Texas region as we build 3,200 megawatts of dispatchable generation and 1,968 megawatts of wind and solar power. The paid internship provides an opportunity to showcase your abilities in one of our project groups that supports the design and construction of a new facility and provides Xcel Energy an engineering pipeline for future projects. The region will be constructing large facilities over the next four years, so this is a great opportunity to join early in the projects. The program provides practical work experience on these projects to develop your existing skillset, present to senior leadership, and collaborate with key internal stakeholders. Each intern will be relied upon to play a role in achieving department objectives and goals. The program will allow you to apply what you've learned in school and further enhance your knowledge through hands-on training and provide opportunities to network and learn with other interns across the Operations organization. Interns will be partnered with an experienced engineer for project assignments and mentoring.
