About The Position

This role focuses efforts on identifying, developing, and executing strategies to solicit major gift prospects in support of Transforming Age communities in the Seattle metro region. The role collaborates closely with Transforming Age leadership, community leadership (Executive Directors and volunteer residents) and is a key partner in designing and implementing major gift development programs to sustain prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The Major Gift Officer prepares and coordinates the informational materials required to secure major gifts and advance donor engagement. Promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Transforming Age and affiliates, and demonstrate commitment to Culture of Excellence and strategic goals. Initially, this role will be primarily focused on the Skyline community in Downtown Seattle. The role may change or evolve over time to include other Seattle Metro area communities as necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in major gift fundraising or related field.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of advancement and donor relations principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Long-term care, senior living, higher education and/or healthcare fundraising experience in a organization with multiple locations is highly preferred.
  • Experience with estate planning, probate, trusts, tax planning for gifts, exclusive of offering legal or tax counsel, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors and prospects.
  • Manages a portfolio of major gift prospects with emphasis on gifts of $25,000 and above.
  • Builds and sustains long-term donor relationships aligned with Transforming Age and community-based priorities.
  • Identify and evaluate major gift and planned giving prospects to achieve or surpass targets.
  • Prepares proposals, briefings, impact reports, and acknowledgements.
  • Ensures accurate CRM record-keeping and donor acknowledgements.
  • Partners with leadership and community connectors on donor engagement.
  • Informs and shapes major gift strategy for the Seattle metro region, beginning with Skyline and other Transforming Age communities in the greater Seattle area.
  • Supports annual fundraising goals, plans, and metrics.
  • Actively supports and engages in annual philanthropy planning.
  • Monitors and evaluates progress toward goals, report results, and proactively identify insights and solutions to achieve success.
  • Establishes and stewards donor relationships with professionalism and trust.
  • Supports the Mission, vision, and values of Transofrming Age in all areas of responsibility.
  • Acts decisively to achieve fundraising results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
