About The Position

Waste Connections is looking for an experienced Major Account Representative to serve as the key contact for our high-profile clients. We are searching for a "people-person" to maintain and broaden existing relationships with our valued major accounts and to develop new relationships as well. This outgoing individual must possess the interpersonal social skills to network with senior executives, entertain clients and find prompt solutions for all their needs. The Major Account Rep prospects and closes major accounts to achieve targeted sales goals and develops effective selling strategies to ensure revenue growth. Salary $115,000 - $125,000 Waste Connections is an integrated solid waste services company that provides solid waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services in mostly exclusive and secondary markets. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-4 years sales or business development experience with proven results
  • Experience with professional presentations
  • Experience in Business to Business Selling, Contract Selling, and Sales Negotiation
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Good numeracy skills to estimate pricing and calculate margins

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Salesforce or comparable CRM tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a list of prospective accounts and key contacts
  • Target large volume opportunities within designated geographic areas
  • Customer retention with existing client base
  • Maintain and update CRM (Salesforce/ARES ) for future follow up
  • Maintain sales pipeline to achieve goals for new/gross sales monthly
  • Prepare professional proposals for existing and potential clients utilizing industry and company knowledge
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, the competitive landscape, market pricing and local regulations
