About The Position

Would shaping the cloud security strategies of State and Local Government and Education organizations excite you? Our industry-leading sales team partners with State, Local and Education (SLED) organizations to deliver industry leading cloud security solutions. We work with cross-functional teams to identify new features and products in the marketplace and implement, support and deliver mission-critical solutions to customers. Partner with the best Working with State & Local Governments and Education customers across New England, you'll play a critical role in their Cloud strategy though Application and API security and Zero Trust solutions. Territory includes State & Local government agencies, Higher Education and K-12 plus Special Districts across multiple states. As a Major Account Executive New Accounts, you will be responsible for: Developing strategic sales plans to maximize opportunities through existing and new accounts Using relationships to prospect, develop leads, build pipeline and pursue contracts Utilizing marketing resources and industry knowledge to create and manage a high-volume sales pipeline ensuring forecast accuracy Securing new and renewals contracts to maximize adoption of Akamai technology and customer satisfaction Partnering with sales engineers, influencers and subject matter experts to ensure consultative engagement with prospects and customers Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: Have 5 years of SLED and Security experience and a Bachelors' degree Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the Cybersecurity Ecosystems, Cloud Security and Zero Trust Demonstrate successful sales experience in system, solution or channel sales within the SLED environment Have prior experience selling IT solutions to State & Local governments and Education in New England area Display an ethical approach to sales, show integrity, personal dedication and be able to uphold Akamai values Work in a way that works for you FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world. Requirements

Have 5 years of SLED and Security experience and a Bachelors' degree
Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the Cybersecurity Ecosystems, Cloud Security and Zero Trust
Demonstrate successful sales experience in system, solution or channel sales within the SLED environment
Have prior experience selling IT solutions to State & Local governments and Education in New England area

Responsibilities

Developing strategic sales plans to maximize opportunities through existing and new accounts
