About The Position

The Lead Host/Maitre D at The Crown Tavern is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests while managing the host/greeter team. This role involves coordinating schedules, training new team members, and ensuring a smooth flow of service at the front door, especially during busy times. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor, contributing to the overall guest experience.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an upscale or high-volume bar environment is preferred but not required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain the schedule for the host/greeter team
• Train, support, and develop new team members
• Provide input on the improvement and delivery of the greeter training programs
• Work effectively with others to foster a collaborative team environment
• Manage the front door independently during high-traffic times
• Use OpenTable or similar reservation management systems proficiently
• Maintain a positive and welcoming attitude at all times
• Build relationships with regular guests
• Greet guests warmly as they enter
• Understand table numbers, seating arrangements, and the flow of service
• Handle phone inquiries and confirm reservations
• Escort guests to their tables with professionalism
• Demonstrate strong communication and active listening skills
• Deliver genuine hospitality and create memorable experiences for guests
