The Maintenance position at Residence Inn by Marriott La Mirada is essential for ensuring guest satisfaction through the upkeep of the hotel's facilities. This role involves maintaining the appearance and functionality of the hotel's guestrooms, public spaces, and heart-of-house areas by performing preventative maintenance and repairs in accordance with the standards set by Residence Inn La Mirada Hotel and Marriott. The maintenance staff is responsible for responding promptly to reports of non-functioning equipment from both guests and hotel staff, ensuring that all issues are addressed in a timely manner to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction. In this role, you will be expected to manage a Room Preventative Maintenance Program (RPM) and maintain a problem log book to track equipment needing repairs. You will utilize both power and hand tools to repair or replace broken items such as mirrors, windows, fixtures, and HVAC systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for the maintenance of kitchen, laundry, and housekeeping equipment, performing routine checks and repairs as necessary. The position also requires monitoring and maintaining the exterior of the building, including street signs and lighting, as well as cleaning and maintaining the pool and spa areas, handling pool chemicals safely. The Maintenance staff will also greet guests warmly, answer questions about the hotel and local area, and forward any requests or grievances to the appropriate department. Key control administration is another important aspect of this role, ensuring safety and security within the hotel. Staying current with brand standards and performing other job-related duties as requested are also part of the responsibilities of this position.
