About The Position

Responsible for the daily management and operations of central receiving warehouse and assigned facilities in which to provide maintenance. Processes incoming deliveries, stocks shelves, picks orders, and prepares for delivery to buildings. Maintains accurate inventory within central receiving warehouse. Transports and delivers supplies, equipment, and furniture; assembling when necessary. Responds to facility emergencies. Maintains and enforces safety and sanitation procedures. Performs preventative and corrective maintenance in regards to mechanical systems, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, fire alarms and sprinkler systems, plumbing and sewer systems, sound and lighting systems, and facility entrance systems for all District facilities. Performs preventative maintenance, repair, remodel, and small construction work on buildings. Requisitions maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment. Assists with facility inventory of supplies and furnishings; maintains tools and equipment. Works with outside sources such as inspectors, suppliers, and contractors. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of facility maintenance experience, two years preferred
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of hot water and steam boilers; proper water treatment; burner operation; centrifugal pumps; knowledge of fire alarm and automatic sprinkler fire systems; knowledge of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems; and electrical, plumbing, and sewer system equipment.
  • Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, walking and standing
  • Frequent bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, turning, and crouching
  • Occasional sitting and crawling
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs intermittently
  • Ability to operate delivery truck and forklift
  • Ability to recognize equipment malfunction
  • Ability to give direction effectively
  • Shares responsibility for holiday, extended day and weekend activities with other operations staff
  • Ability to work modified assignments as necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of technical engineering degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse shipping and receiving operations preferred.
