Key Responsibilities Operate manual and CNC lathes and milling machines to manufacture, repair, and modify mechanical components such as shafts, bushings, sleeves, keyways, housings, and fixtures Set up machining operations including tool selection, work holding, fixturing, and alignment Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications Machine components to close tolerances using precision measurement tools Perform troubleshooting, repair, and reassembly of industrial machinery following machining activities Conduct shaft repairs including turning, threading, keyway cutting, and bearing journal restoration Use milling machines for slotting, drilling, boring, face milling, and contouring operations Perform precision measurement and inspection using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, and bore gauges Install and align machined components using laser alignment systems and dial indicators Maintain and calibrate machine tools, cutting tools, and measuring equipment Fabricate jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support maintenance and production requirements Maintain accurate machining and maintenance documentation including work orders and inspection records Comply with all safety, environmental, and quality standards including LOTO and machine guarding requirements
