Union Tank Car Company is seeking new employees at our full-service rail tank car repair shop in Altoona, Pennsylvania. The Company’s regulatory, engineering and commercial expertise make UTLX the preferred source of railcars and services for many of its customers. We are looking for a Maintenance employee. Pay range of $26.84-$27.84. You will play an active role in maintaining accurate inventory levels and support the team by prioritizing tasks to meet production goals. Primary Job Functions This is not an exhaustive list and employees in these classifications frequently may be required to perform additional duties. Not all classifications will be required to perform all job functions. Installs, inspects, repairs, replaces adjusts and maintains all repair related and plant support machinery and equipment, building facilities, related equipment and systems. Evaluates electrical and mechanical problems, and repairs per supervisor’s instructions. Works from sketches, drawings, printed written and oral instructions to install foundations, building components, piping systems, manufacturing machinery and support equipment. Fabricates and/or installs ladders, guards, railings, brackets, platforms, and related items as required for safe and efficient plant operation. Operates plant heating, cooling, ventilation, pumping and compressor systems. Installs conduit, fittings, switches, controls and fixtures and wires and connects electrical equipment as required for new installations or replacement of facilities. Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts or replaces faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices. Performs work on "hot" lines as required. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports work hazards.
