About The Position

The operations and maintenance dept is responsible for maintaining the entire facility, inside and out in a fully functioning, like new condition, and adhering to the safety standards of Ripley's Aquarium, regardless of the time of day or time of year. This position reports to the Director of Maintenance and Engineering. This is a 3rd shift position

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with and supporting the operations, life support and front of house team members
  • Completing rounds as needed and following proper procedures for opening and closing the building
  • Correcting any issues found or in need of attention in the public areas. If you cannot fix it, inform the manager of your dept immediately.
  • Complete projects accurately, thoroughly, completely and in a timely manner
  • Basic mechanical and electrical (use of VOM, repair power cords, etc.)
  • Basic use of hand tools and power tools (drills, saws, impact wrench, etc.)
  • Basic maintenance tasks (painting, cleaning, inspecting, etc.)
  • Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Follow all safety procedures including wearing any PPE as needed
  • Use lock out/tag out guidelines
  • Must be able to pass forklift and lift training/testing
  • Lifting heavy objects at times may be necessary as well as use of ladders, lifts, reaching overhead, bending and stooping. It is your responsibility to exercise extreme caution in these circumstances
  • Must be available to perform essential functions with our without reasonable accommodation
