About The Position

Shall report needed repairs or maintenance to the maintenance office, so necessary work may be scheduled. Shall accomplish maintenance work on district property and within all district facilities. Some duties are listed below: replacing worn or defective wiring electrical equipment installation and/or repair installation of switches, faucets, pipes, toilets, and plumbing fixtures repair of fencing, asphalt, concrete, ceilings, etc. tile repair and/or new tile installation framing, dry wall repair and /or installation roofing, limited construction projects, maintaining safe conditions relative to flooring, door frames, doors, windows/window frames, staircases, stair treads, wall paneling, ceiling paneling, hardware, and similar structural elements in the facilities owned or operated by the school district shall perform preventative maintenance work Works in conjunction with head custodians and custodians in accomplishing repairs in the school buildings Is responsible for hand tools, equipment, hardware, materials and supplies owned by the district, in that all of the fore-mentioned items are to be secured after use and/or at the end of a work day Shall assist in the areas of groundskeeping such as mowing, trimming, planting, snow removal, etc. Shall possess basic knowledge of heating systems, air conditioning, refrigeration units, fire protection systems, and water & gas shut offs in order to shut down defective systems, make minor repairs,and perform routine maintenance in emergency situations. Responsible to send and retrieve work order data through the electronic work order system at intervals set by management Shall utilize mobile technology in the performance of work duties Shall successfully perform preventative maintenance as it pertains to district facilities Shall be required to perform on call duties as directed Shall be responsible for addressing inclement weather situations as directed Shall perform all duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Shall be in good physical condition and have the ability to lit up to 80lbs routine and ongoing basis
  • Shall twist, bend, squat, reach above head
  • Have ability to climb ladders
  • Is required to have prior work experience in the following areas: Carpentry Plumbing Electrical Mechanical
  • Individual is expected to be professional, prompt and courteous with all personnel, visitors, staff, etc.
  • Exceptional time management skills required including maintaining an organized scheduling and tracking system to effectively complete all maintenance requests in a timely manner and in the order by which they were received or by level of urgency
  • Shall work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Shall have prior experience with mowing equipment, tractors,snow removal and the maintenance of such equipment
