About The Position

Under general supervision, the Maintenance Worker performs routine inspection,
preventive maintenance, and minor repairs of facility equipment, building
systems, and grounds. Ensures the facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and
operational condition in accordance with established policies, procedures, and
union standards.

Requirements

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in building maintenance or a related trade
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance practices
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of mechanical equipment and building systems; report unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and perform minor adjustments or repairs as required
• Inspect and maintain heating systems, including boilers, pumps, fire and water sides, and heating units, particularly during summer maintenance periods
• Assist with plumbing maintenance and repairs, including toilets, sinks, water fountains, sewer lines, and related fixtures
• Assist in basic electrical maintenance and the upkeep of air conditioning units under appropriate supervision
• Perform general building maintenance, including sheetrock installation, taping, painting, tile work, grouting, and wallpapering
• Assist with wheelchair maintenance and minor repairs as required
• Support groundskeeping operations, including snow removal and grass cutting, as assigned
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
• Follow all safety regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies
