About The Position

Assists with a variety of skilled general maintenance-related activities, and may perform janitorial and custodial duties as needed. This is a temporary seasonal position not to exceed 122 days that will be scheduled full-time hours. Schedule (DAY): Wednesday through Sunday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous general, skilled maintenance and repair experience.
• Ability to safely operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Ability to learn to operate a forklift using proper safety standards.
• Good customer service skills and the ability to work well with others.
• Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.
• Must be available to work all 23 days of OC Fair (mid July- mid August).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in safely operating heavy equipment such as forklift, manlift, scissors lift, Bobcat (skid steer tractor) and/or skip loader
• Possess a valid California driver’s license to operate a utility cart and other equipment..
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience.
• Familiarity with the layout and facilities of the OC Fair & Event Center.

Responsibilities

• Participate in janitorial and custodial duties including cleaning buildings and facilities, cleaning and restocking restrooms, emptying trash, and cleaning guest tables and eating areas.
• Perform sorting and other duties related to recycling and biological waste program.
• Assist in skilled general maintenance and repair activities to buildings and facilities of OC Fair & Event Center.
• Load and unload supplies throughout the facilities.
• Provide assistance to plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters with projects and repairs when assigned.
• Perform a variety of landscaping duties including mowing lawns and caring for plants and shrubs.
• Will be required to perform other duties as directed, requested or assigned.
