About The Position

A maintenance worker ensures the functionality and safety of buildings, machinery, and equipment by performing routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs. Core duties include fixing plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, along with painting, and general upkeep. They typically require technical skills, tool proficiency, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in a maintenance role, often with specialized knowledge in plumbing or electrical work.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with tools (power tools, hand tools, testing devices) and the ability to read blueprints and manuals.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong diagnostic skills to identify root causes of equipment failures.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED; technical certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance: Performing routine checks on HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure they run efficiently.
  • Repairs: Fixing broken items, including walls, flooring, locks, windows, and light fixtures.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Painting, cleaning, and landscaping, including, but not limited to, sidewalk, fence, and rooftop maintenance.
  • System Diagnostics: Inspecting control panels, and mechanical systems to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring all work meets safety standards, including fire safety inspections.
  • Documentation & Inventory: Maintaining maintenance logs, recording tasks completed, and ordering supplies.
