About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for repair and maintenance of equipment, furnishings, and buildings. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High school and Vocational Technical training in carpentry; electrical, electronics, or plumbing trades with above average performance or equivalent. Experience: One year's full time non-concurrent experience in any two of the following or two years in general maintenance defined as the building trades of plumbing, electrical, electronics, refrigeration or heating. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Exhibits good cooperation with management and maintenance department, such as a positive response to applicable improvement issues found in performance reviews or elsewhere; a positive response to instructions or work assignments; a positive approach to improving work skills, communications and productivity. License/Certification/Registration: Within one year of hire/transfer, successfully completes, The American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), NFPA-99, “Healthcare Facilities Code”, Certificate of Attendance SUPERVISION RECEIVED Receives direct supervision from the Facility Supervisor. SUPERVISION GIVEN None

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and services electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Repairs piping and heating equipment including heat and water systems.
  • Repairs Medical Center equipment.
  • Cleans and services heating and air conditioning equipment.
  • Repairs light fixtures and changes light bulbs.
  • Repairs and maintains Medical Center furniture including beds, tables, stands, chairs, etc.
  • Repairs and services call systems for patient rooms and nurse’s stations.
  • Operates Boiler Room when the schedule requires.
  • Assists with the installation or movement of equipment or renovations.
  • Performs tasks such as but not limited to: snow removal; grounds care; painting; cleaning; etc. when necessary.
  • Participates when necessary in the process of equipment/building alterations or renovations.
  • Participates in the call duties for non-regular working hours.
  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Performs related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.
