About The Position

Maintenance Worker – An exciting job that’s “on the go”! Company van + paid gas! Full-time: Visit different local facilities throughout the day! Tired of being stuck in one place all day? Looking for a change in scenery? In this fast-paced career-growth position, you will assist the Facilities Manager in maintenance work and projects at various locations. If you have knowledge of trades (carpentry, plumbing, and/or electrical) and are a self-starter with working knowledge of MS Outlook and smart phones (for the electronic work orders system) then this is the perfect job for you. When a group of families came together in 1957 to find services for their children with developmental disabilities, ACLD was born. Today, we are a leading not-for-profit agency employing 1300+ staff and providing over 80 program sites in Nassau and Suffolk. Requirements

Clean, valid NYS driver’s license.
Prior experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical or other related building trades.
The ability to work at various heights while using extension ladders to access roofs, lighting etc., and ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Verbal/written communication skills including the ability to provide or obtain information, to interpret and advise to clarify understanding.
Strong reasoning skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
HS Diploma preferred

Responsibilities

Complete all assigned work, paperwork and projects in a timely manner.
Complete all schedules (listed in maintenance manual) and any additional items required for program and/or building certifications.
Complete seasonal preventative maintenance projects such as power washing, furniture moving, landscaping and snow removal and assist other maintenance workers, as assigned.
