About The Position

The Maintenance Worker III – General is a position in the Facilities Management department. The position focuses on general maintenance and the caregiver may be assigned to work in a variety of areas of focus. The Maintenance Worker III – General is able to work autonomously and with minimal supervision. They thoroughly understand safe work practices in a healthcare setting and can lead individuals or teams in accomplishing complex and difficult tasks. Essential Functions Responsible to perform routine to complex maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and repairing damaged walls or floors. Responsible to perform complex maintenance tasks such as replacing plumbing fixtures, cabinetry, doors, and windows. Assists with or leading the installation, repair, and maintenance of hospital equipment and systems. Responds to emergency maintenance requests and provides immediate assistance to resolve the issue. Communicates effectively with all parties affected by maintenance operations. Ensures infection control, patient privacy, and safety are considered and addressed in preparing for and performing work. Demonstrates a level of competency to perform work on routine to complex issues. Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a maintenance generalist or handyman
  • Demonstrated abilities of the skills listed above
  • A valid drivers license may be required for this position.
  • Willingness to work hard and to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
