About The Position
As a Maintenance Worker at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities, which serve the military community and their families. This position requires a personable individual who is dedicated to supporting our operational successes on a day-to-day basis. Your work will directly impact how we serve our customers, making it essential to maintain a high standard of service and facility condition. You will be part of a team that values collaboration and commitment to excellence, ensuring that our guests have a comfortable and welcoming environment during their stay. In this role, you will be responsible for performing maintenance tasks across various trades, including plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, and painting. You will maintain a work order log, follow up on tasks, and report the status of maintenance issues to your supervisor. Additionally, you may be required to greet guests upon their arrival, offering assistance with luggage, directions, and information about base services and the local area. Your ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service will be key to your success in this position. The Maintenance Worker position is physically demanding, requiring you to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and climb, often in tiring and uncomfortable positions. You will frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, so physical fitness and stamina are important. This role is vital to maintaining the quality and safety of our facilities, ensuring that they meet the needs of our military patrons and their families.
