About The Position

The City of College Park Public Works Department has an opening for a full-time Maintenance Worker in our Landscape Division. Duties include, but are not limited to, weeding, digging, planting, mulching, the use of hand tools, and handheld power equipment. The work also involves a variety of manual labor tasks, such as pruning, sawing, and leaf and snow removal. Work occurs outdoors in all weather conditions year-round. The person selected must be able to stoop, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods. This position is considered essential. The person could be required to work long shifts in adverse or emergency conditions .

Requirements

• A valid driver's license
• 6 months of experience in landscaping tasks.
• Lift items to 75 pounds without assistance and push/pull objects up to 150 pounds.
• Successfully complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
