About The Position

A Maintenance Worker II (weekend), provides a leadership role on the weekends for a variety of support services in order to maintain the interior appearance of institutional buildings and the surrounding exterior appearance of the grounds. This work involves adhering to established standard procedures, techniques, and safety requirements with some judgment required to interpret instructions. Positions in this job class may be required to work weekend shifts, and scheduling may be subject to frequent change.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in general building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of building trades.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Ability to follow OSHA guidelines and associated codes.
  • Ability to read and write in English and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to operate power tools such as saws, drills, and jackhammers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist on preventative maintenance plans for all mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Perform general painting duties as instructed.
  • Operate as a first responder to odors, leaks, electrical failures, and plumbing related failures.
  • Relocate offices and classrooms within buildings and throughout campus.
  • Clean and maintain the surrounding exterior appearance of all institutional buildings.
  • Attend various training classes, seminars, and other meetings.
  • Clean and maintain the interior appearance of all buildings.
  • Change light bulbs and create work orders for repairs.
  • Replenish supplies including toilet tissue, towels, and soap.
  • Collect and properly dispose of trash and litter throughout institutional buildings and grounds.
