Maintenance Worker I - Sewer
About The Position
As a Maintenance Worker I with our Sewer team, you will be performing a variety of tasks in the construction and maintenance of sewers, streets, parks, equipment, and City facilities including: Assisting in the maintenance and repair of sanitary and storm sewer lines/systems to prevent and resolve blockages, leaks, and environmental hazards Clearing obstructions and roots from sewer lines using high pressure jetting, root cutting, and chemical application Inspecting sewer system through the use of mobile video equipment Operating of heavy and light construction equipment as required Performing event setup and takedown Helping with snow removal and providing support to the other Public Works teams as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and physically enter/exit a confined space such as sanitary manholes or utility vaults
- Basic knowledge of procedures utilized in sewer maintenance and repair
- Strong work ethic, good attitude, and safety focused
- Ability to maintain regular and dependable attendance
Responsibilities
