About The Position

Perform all duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor/Manager/Director. This position involves identifying deficiencies and deviations from maintenance schedules and standards, performing inspections and inspection tests of equipment and buildings, and carrying out general repairs and maintenance, including minor plumbing and electrical repairs. The Maintenance Worker I may assist other mechanical maintenance tradesmen as directed, operate light or heavy equipment, and maintain equipment and tools. Additional responsibilities include assisting with snow removal as needed and performing other job-related duties as assigned. Overtime may be required, and good hygiene and cleanliness are required at all times. The worker must adhere to the company uniform policy, maintain a clean vehicle, and report maintenance issues to the office. Following the rules and regulations as described in the company handbook is essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 0-3 years of experience required.
  • Ability to read, write and follow directions.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating/cooling, and general repairs.
  • 3+ years of experience in a specific trade preferred (i.e., plumbing, electrical, etc.).
  • Familiarity with and adherence to all safety rules and regulations for the University Safety Policy.
