About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining the college grounds, ensuring they are clean and well-kept. This includes tasks such as mowing, trimming, raking, and irrigating all areas, as well as trimming, pruning, and spraying trees and shrubs, and planting new trees, shrubs, and flowers. The role requires the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of various ground equipment, including lawn and garden tractors, sidewalk edgers, mowers, weed eaters, hand sprayers, and small hand tools. Additionally, the worker will maintain and fuel vehicles, and clean their exterior and interior as needed. The role also involves promoting a culture of belonging by supporting an environment where all students, faculty, and employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute. This includes fostering a community that enriches the educational experience and creates a safe and respectful environment, and supporting the College’s policies and programming related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age or older
Valid Driver’s License and the ability to qualify for auto insurance coverage

Responsibilities

Maintain grounds
Keep the grounds clean from litter and trash
Mow, trim, rake, and irrigate all areas
Trim, prune, and spray trees and shrubs
Plant trees, shrubs, and flowers
Operate, maintain, and repair ground equipment
Responsible for the safe operation of equipment while performing various essential functions of the position
Maintain and fuel vehicles
Wash the exterior and clean the interior of vehicles as needed
Promote a Culture of Belonging
