The Maintenance Worker performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision. This role involves assisting in the installation of new equipment, supporting the Maintenance Supervisor on special fabrication and construction projects, and following a preventative maintenance schedule. For those above Level 1, responsibilities include training Level 1 personnel. The worker performs machine repair and installation tasks such as replacing motors, rebuilding gear boxes, running threaded and weld piping, overhauling pumps, and replacing packing shaft seals on cookers and pumps. Welding and using a cutting torch are also part of the job. Daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment are required, along with diagnosing and replacing equipment parts with minimal direction. The role also involves diagnosing and repairing control circuits and VFD installation. Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area is essential. The employee is responsible for using assigned personal protective equipment and required safety equipment, being familiar with and observing all Company safety rules and regulations, and attending regularly scheduled safety meetings. Participation on the Safety Committee may also be requested. All other duties as assigned.
