About The Position

Summary/Objective Provide Welding / Fabricating expertise with the ability to make mechanical repairs in the Processing facilities working as a team member to make sure that food products are processed according to quality specifications and customer needs. Essential Functions Welding / Fabricating expertise with the ability to perform mechanical repairs to Processing Equipment that Produces Food Products for Customers Welding Skills: To include, but not be limited to, the use of an oxy-acetylene cutting torch, oxy-acetylene welding, copper pipe soldering, stick welding on mild steel as well as stainless steel, and TIG (Heli- Arc) welding of aluminum and stainless steel. The ability to draw/ draft and layout equipment conveyors, guards etc. for various processing equipment. Welding Certification for sanitary lines or Pressure Vessels would also be beneficial. Hydraulic Systems: To include, but not be limited to, hydraulic motors as well as pumps, pressure switches, directional flow control valves, check valves, hydraulic manifolds, as well as piping and hydraulic fittings. Pneumatics: To include but not be limited to, cylinders, air motors, control valves and piping, and an ability to interpret pneumatic schematics. Electrical: A basic understanding of electricity in both single phase and three phase power for 110V, 230V, and 480V; an understanding of micro-switches, solid state relays, photo electric switches and sensors, and inductive proximity switches. Any experience with programmable logic controllers and computers is beneficial. Industrial Shop Tools: To include but not be limited to, the use of grinders and cutoff saws, band saws, drill presses, hydraulic presses, and pipe threading equipment. A basic understanding of the operation of a lathe is beneficial. Experience: Previous work experience as a mechanic in food processing plants or fish processing plants would be desired. Most power tools are supplied by the company, but you will need to have your own hand tools (standard and metric). Ability to work on various processing machines and equipment as required. Communicate and Work as a Team Member Participate in some discussion about confidential/sensitive matters. Communicate with employees and others through written, oral and face-to-face interactions. Assist other team members in completion of work. Communicate with fellow employees to complete tasks and adhere to safety standards. Ability to work flexible work schedules with varying hours as required. Miscellaneous Duties as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience as a mechanic in food processing plants or fish processing plants would be desired.
  • Welding Certification for sanitary lines or Pressure Vessels would also be beneficial.
  • Any experience with programmable logic controllers and computers is beneficial.
  • A basic understanding of the operation of a lathe is beneficial.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Knowledge of production line and packing processes
  • Sanitary Welding Experience
  • Pressure Vessel Certification
