About The Position

The Waste Water Technician performs a variety of job duties including: Certified in Metal Waste Stream by the IL EPA (IEPA Class K Waste Water Operator Certification)Checks in tankers delivering product utilizing a 3 stage check list to ensure correct product is being delivered Monitors current volume to ensure ability to receive volume of product to be delivered. Utilizes proper PPE including tyvex suit, face shield, gloves, respirator when neededReceives bulk product once per week. Delivery driver does hook up of hoses. Waste water tech monitors for volume and any leaks. No lifting is performed with bulk deliveries. May work inside and also outside depending on deliveries and any issues that develop. Monitors the pumping station via computer system and trouble shoots issues when neededCarries 50 pound bags of oil-dry and lime up flight of 20 stairs to dump into equalization tanks. Average of 4-6 bags at a time, once a week. Dumping into tanks at height of 3-4 feet. Outside must pull on lever to release dumpster lid and slid lid back. Height is 5 feet. Uses step ladder to reach levers and valves on tank systemUses a forklift when moving product in facilityShift is 8 hours. May work overtime up to 10-12 hours.JOB PHYSICAL DEMANDS· Must be able to lift minimum of 60lbs. · While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60lbs. The employee is required to push, pull, reach and lift above head and below shoulder level. The employee must be able to carry up to 60lbs for a distance of 250+ feet. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.
