About The Position

Montauk Lodge in the spectacular setting of Montauk State Park is one of the state's most popular locations to fish for rainbow trout. Montauk Lodge offers quaint cabins for lodging guests, resort style guest rooms, retail gift sales, restaurant dining, and wonderful trails to walk. Who wouldn't want to experience this rustic adventure? This is a seasonal role with an immediate start date (following the completion of our onboarding process), and an anticipated end date of 10/31/2026 Maintenance Utility Summary: The Maintenance Utility associate is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings and grounds on the property. These duties include, but are not limited to: landscaping maintenance, handling of recyclables, ensuring cleanliness and appropriate stocking of supplies for restrooms

Requirements

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities
Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
Must be able to work independently and complete a daily list of assigned tasks with little or no supervision
Majority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment. Position involves frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and lifting to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Must be 18 years of age
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (we also accept high school seniors and juniors)
Experience: Two (2) years facility maintenance experience
Knowledge of safe work practices (OSHA)

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on various equipment in a safe and timely manner when directed by management
Ensure that grounds are always neat and well maintained, by utilizing mowers, trimmers, and other appliances in a safe and effective manner as necessary and directed
Ensure recycling efforts are consistent, on-time and handled according to the company’s environmental processes
Ensure that all public areas, specifically restrooms, are always properly sanitized and cleaned while maintaining adequate stock of required supplies
Regularly inspect the business grounds and building to identify maintenance needs and report to them to manager
Actively participate in creating a positive work environment and promote teamwork
Maintain customer service standards responding to all requests / complaints to minimize / solve problems in a timely and safe manner
Work safely to avoid injuries and accidents, including wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment
Follow all health, safety standards, security guidelines, policies, and initiatives
All other duties as may be assigned
