About The Position

This position is part of the Grady County School System Maintenance Department and involves performing various maintenance tasks. The employee will be expected to perform any duties necessary in the execution of the department's mission, including preventative maintenance on HVAC units, plumbing support, and cross-training in other job skills. The role requires a commitment to safety and effective communication.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Pass pre-employment criminal background check.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Hold a valid Georgia Driver license.
• Some basic electrical, HVAC, and plumbing repair experience.
• Hold a current freon handling certificate or be able to obtain one in 3 months.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in basic HVAC operation, maintenance, and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Basic electrical knowledge and understanding of common electrical systems.
• Some experience in commercial plumbing systems.
• Experience in the operation of custodial cleaning equipment and grounds maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC units, including filter replacement and washing units regularly.
• Identify and understand energy conservation materials, equipment, and procedures.
• Identify and replace correct ballast and bulb requirements for light fixtures.
• Assist in commercial plumbing repairs, including water source delivery systems and waste water removal systems.
• Learn and assist in other job skills performed by all other employees of the Maintenance Department.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
