About The Position

The Maintenance Lead position is a developmental role as part of the leadership in the Maintenance Department. As a lead, responsibilities include work under the mentorship and leadership of the shift maintenance supervisor and maintenance management to learn the necessary skills for successfully leading a team of techs. Internal and external training and development techniques will be used, and expected to be attended by the lead, to develop the necessary skillsets.

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma with at least 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience with increased responsibilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to lift greater than 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.
  • Team oriented; Ability to collaborate and operate in a team environment; Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Utilities Lead for Engine Room must have Ammonia 2 Operator certificate

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Dry Warehousing experience preferred.
  • Prior Cooler/Dairy Warehousing experience preferred.
  • Prior ASRS Warehousing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Active involvement and engagement in all Safety programs, audits, and policies.
  • Assist the shift supervisor in assigning work, following up on assigned work, and ensuring the teams have the necessary resources to perform job/project successfully.
  • Joint responsibility with the supervisor to provide excellent service to the operations department through professional maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work closely with the technical training dept, for SOP creations, training maintenance techs.
  • Support employees by coaching, mentoring and resolving issues/bottlenecks issues to increase productivity, job capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing, environmental, safety, and employee working.
  • Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing of tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
  • Ensure effective communication between shifts and other departments.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
