The Maintenance Utility Engineer position is responsible for minor heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical repairs. This role will also provide assistance to our skilled trades teams, as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 or more years in the construction industry or related field
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • Position will include frequent exposure to extremes of weather and environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains lighting systems in the museum and all satellite buildings, grounds and offices, including inventory and installation of specialty lamps and bulbs.
  • Schedules and performs preventive maintenance programs for heating and cooling motors, including lubrication, filters and belts.
  • Assists in keeping down time to a minimum by isolating problems and repairing and/or notifying responsible individual(s).
  • Performs other activities as necessary.
  • Contributes to the effective team management of all problems, issues and opportunities.
  • Acts as a team player and provides expertise within the team and with other teams as appropriate.
