About The Position

The Maintenance Utility Employee is responsible for performing various services associated with maintaining the hangar, hangar equipment, and company vehicles in safe and operational working conditions. The role involves implementing and maintaining 5S practices, executing facility inspections, performing safety and operational tasks, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The employee will also coordinate repairs, perform routine maintenance, and maintain safety requirements in the hangar.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • At least six months experience in a related position and environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Some mechanical experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, or holidays.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate clearly in speech and writing.
  • Must be able to use and follow standard work order procedures.
  • Must be able to use ladders, work stands, lifts, hand/power tools, etc.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office and general Internet applications.

  • Some mechanical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and maintains 5S practices in the hangar and surrounding ramp areas.
  • Executes weekly/monthly/quarterly hangar facility inspections in accordance with GMM and standard practices.
  • Performs daily/weekly equipment safety and operational tasks to ensure proper operation and prevent hazards.
  • Inspects and maintains hazardous waste sites at both hangar and ramp area to ensure compliance with company, airport, and state regulations.
  • Coordinates on-site repairs with contracted vendors (i.e. boom lift, vehicle lifts, etc.).
  • Coordinates logistics required for equipment repairs where packaging and shipment is required (i.e. aircraft jacks, etc.).
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance to aircraft support equipment.
  • Maintains hangar safety requirements (lead lines, safety signage, etc.).
  • Performs routine inspection of chemical cabinets at hangar and ramp for security and presence of expired chemicals.
  • Active participant of base safety committee.
  • Assists with GSE equipment logistics as necessary to maintain repairs.
  • Work is performed outside or in a hangar, dealing with, but not limited to: dirt, oil, fuel, cleaning fluids.
  • All other duties as assigned.
