Requirements

  • Must have a High School diploma or GED.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
  • One (1) year of experience with Information Technology Structured wiring, or Audio Video distribution.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Current Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) certs a plus.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense DATA centers.
  • General knowledge of operating principles for wired and wireless environments.
  • Electronic Technicians Association (ETA) Certified Fiber Optic Installer.
  • IT/AV Industry certification.
  • Wireless network (802.11b/g/a/n, WLAN/WWAN/WMAN) survey/deployment/support experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day installation support for structured wiring and telecommunication system installations.
  • Install infrastructure wiring and related communications equipment.
  • Install cable, connectors, cable trays, conduits, and desktop KVM configurations for network cable plants, government offices, and conference rooms.
  • Work closely with government sponsors and other contractors/subcontractors in federal facilities.
  • Use network infrastructure tools and test equipment.
  • Demonstrate strong coordination, organization, teaming, and communication abilities.
  • Work well individually or in a team environment.
  • Work under pressure and time constraints.
  • Carry 50 pounds unaided or 90-pound loads aided.
  • Work in tight, cramped spaces such as equipment rack (IT) rooms and comms closets.
  • Work on ladders and/or move up and down steep staircases as required.
  • Support all aspects of infrastructure and network cabling following best industry practices.
