About The Position

Under general supervision, is responsible for operating and maintaining a tool crib and perform related work as required. Summary of Essential Job Functions: Issue tools and equipment to maintenance personnel while recording the issues and returns. File, index and update inventory cards and record tools received from stockroom. Inspect new and repaired tools and equipment for proper operation. Write requisitions and tallies for the repair or replacement of tools. Write transmittals for the release of tools and equipment to vendors for repair. Perform inventory as required. Perform necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment. Perform general cleanup, clerical or maintenance work incidental to the operation of the tool crib. Observe safe work practices. Able to use software programs including CMMS systems. Process purchase orders and check in parts. Works with vendors on getting comparison quotes. Conduct periodic cycle counts.

Requirements

  • High school education
  • Good knowledge of machine shop and mechanical maintenance tools and their repair including a basic knowledge of valves, bearings, shafts, pumps,and proxes.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to keep simple records and make arithmetic computations accurately.
